Future of Media Categories

04/17/2014 Adrenalin Advertising

Over the past decade we have seen a significant change to the way we view media. The shift shows 88% of media consumed today is all screen based, this consists of smartphones, tablets, Laptops/PC, and television.  On average we spend 4.1 hours of our leasuire time per day in front of screens!

This trend unfortunatly leaves Magazines, Radio and Newspapers the remaining 12%. These mediums have seen a decline in industry revenue and will continue to decline over the next 5 years.

Multi-screening has been identified by many business’ as an opportunity to  capture their audience twice in the one hit with a push to drive consumers to webpages during their television commercials.  People have quickly adjusted and know the importnace of having an online presence and social media pages to interact and engage with their audience in sync.

The advertising industry is set to increase by 3.2% over the next 5 years & the only 2 mediums that are set to decline are Newspaper and Magazines.

Free-to-Air television will continue to grow  & remains the best form and most cost effective medium of advertising.
